The thing that I am most impressed with right now is the fact that MS just proved to the country that the most, arguably, conservative state in the country can defeat ignorance on an issue and not just gather information from mommies, daddies, and churches. This isn’t about being “pro” anything. It’s more about people developing opinions on their own and learning to agree to disagree. A big step forward for a southern state in the “bible belt”. Where it seems as if ignorance is commonly passed down from generation to generation; racism, religion, politics.. you name it.
However, I have hope for this state.
I love being in the boondocks.. but 3 weeks is long enough.
I’m leaving Mississippi and heading back to Chicago this weekend.
Can’t wait to have consistent cell phone service and to play some music.
